On July 1, 2008, the waiting lists for HAP's Public Housing program closed to new applicants. Updated information about future waiting list openings will be posted on this website as it becomes available. Please check this website or call the Public Housing hotline at 503.288.5750 for the most current information regarding our Public Housing waiting lists. |

HAP’s Public Housing program owns and/or manages nearly 2500 low-rent housing units for families and individuals. These apartment communities, which contain units in size from studio to 4-bedroom, are located throughout Multnomah County and Gresham. In general, rents for these properties are approximately 30% of the household's monthly adjusted income. This page includes all the information you will need to successfully apply for HAP's public housing program.
Where do you want to live?
HAP maintains site-based waiting lists at each of our apartment communities. Applicants may choose to apply for up to three communities on the "open" waiting list(s). To obtain more specific information about the apartment communties listed on the "open" waiting lists use the public housing interactive community guide.
How do I apply?
Applicants may apply for up to three apartment communities on the “open” waiting list by submitting a public housing application to any community leasing office. A step-by-step guide and printable application forms are available on our Applying for Housing page.
Keep HAP Informed
Once your application has been accepted you will need to keep HAP informed of any changes to your phone number, address, and/or household compostion. All changes must be in writing and may be submitted to any apartment community leasing office. Failure to do so may result in your application being cancelled.
