Parks and Greenspaces
New Columbia will have several new "pocket parks" thoughout the site, and a bright new 3.8-acre McCoy Park will occupy the heart of the New Columbia neighborhood offering a central spot for activities ranging from gardening to romping on a play structure to shooting hoops. Public Art
Public Art will be a prominent part of the neighborhood when residents begin moving back to New Columbia. The community garden at McCoy Park will
have entry gates with laser-cut steel panels interlaced with images of food, plants, patterns and quotations and a multicultural-themed fence. A decorative spiral walkway through the park has been laid, and work will soon start on park benches that feature sculptured metal squirrels and salmon. To learn more
